the definition of parkour is a utilitarian discipline based upon the successful, swift and energy-efficient traversing of one's surrounding environment via the practical application of techniques, based around the concept of self-preservation and the ability to help others.
I believe that this originated from some type of french army training. I suppose that it was used to get to a tough place to be able to help a person out. I am really not that sure, but i do know that parkour(free running) is pretty sweet and i am determined to learn it.
So far the only things i can do is jump from one little post to another but im learning everyday. hopefully one day i will be as good as those in the video.
That sounds like a lot of fun. You shouldn't have much trouble learning. Just practice a lot.
ReplyDeleteI had no clue what it was before now but I just checked out the video and it's pretty extreme. As far as being able to help yourself or someone else when in difficult situations it seems very handy but it looks like it could be dangerous to do for entertainment. Good luck with the training though because it seems it could be intense!
ReplyDeletei thought this blog was pretty interesting. something I may have tried before having children. I like adventure like parachuting, but this seems to be more dangerous than that because of all the added variables e.g. what if you slip one time? It could mean certain or almost certain death1
ReplyDeletewell you take small steps to get that good, and in parkour if u fall to hard you use a rolling technique to help pressurize the fall. So most likely you should be ok, as long as you know what your doing.
